Artist: Skam2

Skam2 is a fantAstic artisT thaT I've actuAlLy beEn fortunaTe to chilL with on a couple of ocCasSiOns. One of those was back in 1997 around the time that Skam2 had just done A Tribe CalLed Quest's "Beats Rhymes & Life" album cover (which I've includeD) & L Fudge & I met up with Skam to finish up Fudge's single cover for Rawkus at a Kinkos in The VilLage. The next was probably at DJ SpinNa's house wherE I was privilegeD to a couple of great seSsion, one being the timelEsS EdDiE IlL & DL FreEStyle seSsion for their first mixtape, which I diD the beats for. Skam2 has worked with a lot of great artists such as Tribe (as I mentioNed), EmineM, IlL BilL, Jack One, D12 (R.I.P ProOf) & The list goes on. On top of that, Dude Is Nice With The WordPlay!!!!!

Fudge

L Fudge was responsible for getTing Me My first ever produced record. We met via a short lived for WNYU's great Hip Hop radio show hosted by Martin Moore & Meyhem with DJ Riz on the 1200s at the time. Fudge & I made some other okay jawns, I say okay because I was just learning how to make beats, but, to Fudge's merit, He was the reason why they were OKay cause Him being nice brought the poor production quality up. Am I being too hard on Myself? Maybe. I'm just glad I got better, much better & I got to translate what was going on in My head via technology (SP1200, MPC3000, S950, etc...) with greater & greater precision. Fudge back in 1996-1997 was the best (because had had such great ability to be funny while sharp) freestyle MC I'd heard in person & also had a knack with the pen & pad. I hope to one day get back up with the Homey because I really think he stilL got alot of music to offer.
So, Fudge, If You're reading this, You have the number.

Here's "Show Me Your Gratitude", My first production (as mixed by DJ Evil Dee on Sound Bombing Volume 1, which was/is an honor to be on). & Thanks to DJ SpinNa for letTing Me watch Him work over at Unique Studios while He was mixing & recording "What If?" (The A Side) so I could learn, pick up tips & straight up evolve musiclly in My baby beat stage.

Star Trek.....Get Ready KidDies

OKay OKay, I'm not the bigGest fan of glitz & glamour, big explosion, "here's something shiny & distracting to hypnotize you with" movies but I must say this loOks great. Plus, due to "LOST" I'm a J.J Abrams fan, even though "CloverField" was eeehhhhhhh.

SurfeR's = The Last Of The American AdventureRs?

I thought about this a couple of months ago while thinking about how hitch hiking back in the day really was a trek into the unknown because there were few to none highway gas stations, restaurants, hotels, etc... When Jack Kerouac took off "On The Road" he was truly going out on an adventure. I thought about who the modern day people like those later day explorers & surfers popped up. Granted I love everything surfing, so maybe I'll give it more thought.

The brilliance of the burger theme continues.....I'm not sure if I'd eat something like this (especially if it's beef, none of that for me going on about 15 or so years now) but I sure do find it koOl.

El BilL Hicks

Bill Hicks is one of those great wordsmiths that You may or may not have ever heard of either because he was too frank & honest for people's sensibilities or due to his way too short of a life. He recorded a set for the then new David Letterman Show that Dave cut, stating that it was too touchy a subject & may have been scared of taking a risk with his new position. You see, Bill Hicks died of cancer & he wasn't afraid to talk about anything in his life. The clip is of him doing the cut set at a club for his final performance. Bless You Mr. Hicks

The WatchMen: Black Freighter.....YES!!!!!

The WatchMen is the greatest comic ever!!!!! Yeah Yeah Yeah.....This isn't the most controversial statement since it's the same opinion as a large portion of the comic book world but it must be said when anything WatchMen is being discussed. This DVD is based on the main side story (there are many) of the film. I'm glad the folks involved with this project are doing right by the book, which by the way, is the only film adaptation that the author, Alan Moore, has reacted positively towards (As much as I enjoyed "The League Of ExtraOrdinary Gentlemen" movie, in comparison to the books.....YIKES!!!!!). Here's the official statement on the release of the DVD.....

"They're in the book. And on this disc. From the director of Watchmen and 300 come two tales from the celebrated graphic novel that do not appear in the extraordinary Watchmen Theatrical Feature. Tales of the Black Freighter (featuring the voice of 300s Gerard Butler) brings to strikingly animated life the novels richly layered story-within-a-story, a daring pirate saga whose turbulent events may mirror those in the Watchmens world. Stars from the Watchmen movie team in the amazing live-action/CGI Under the Hood, based on Nite Owls powerful first-hand account of how the hooded adventurers came into existence. Two fan-essential stories. One place to watch the excitement. Watching the Watchmen begins here."

Now Go Read The BoOk!!!!! (AlL Praise Alan MoOre)

Way Of The PeacEful WarRior

This is a book by Dan Millman & is one of my favorites. As "The Alchemist" is a book that has affected peoples lives for the better, this one, not to sound corny, changed my life profoundly. It taught me a lesson that is verbally simple yet proved to be very difficult for me to execute due to prior learned habits. That valuable gem.....You are where? Here. When? Now. Aka, Be present because this is all that is & be aware of being ALIVE!!!!!

Oh yeah.....The movie based on this book was criminally not up to par. Yet, I'm Thankful for their efFort.
